NASSAU CONTAINER PORT PARTNERS WITH NEMA TO RECEIVE HURRICANE RELIEF SUPPLIES

APD Limited, Tropical Shipping, Bahamas Fast Ferries, Rotary International, Bahamas Red Cross, and other corporate partners are working together to support the National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) by providing logistical support to the relief initiative for the Family Islands and residents affected by Hurricane Joaquin.

SOME OF OUR EFFORTS INCLUDE:

Waiving Port Fees for items consigned to NEMA.

FEES TO BE WAIVED INCLUSIVE OF VAT:

  • Dockage
  • Line Handling
  • Landing Fees
  • Security Fees
  • Terminal Handling Fees
  • Stevedoring Fees
  • Gate Fees
  • Storage Fees
  • This includes the equipment being returned after a relief run

APD LIMITED IS RECEIVING CARGO AT THE NASSAU CONTAINER PORT ON NEMA’S BEHALF AT THE PORT’S MAIN ENTRANCE. NEMA has established a list of relief supplies needed and below are the items that are being accepted at this time:

ARAWAK PORT DEVELOPMENT LTD. PARTNERS WITH NEMA TO RECEIVE HURRICANE RELIEF SUPPLIES

NEMA Partners with Arawak Port Development Ltd. to receive Hurricane Relief Supplies

NASSAU, The Bahamas – The National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, has partnered with Arawak Port Development Ltd. (APD) to assist individuals seeking to donate relief supplies to the areas impacted by Hurricane Joaquin.

Individuals wishing to donate relief items are asked to bring them to the Nassau Container Port at Arawak Cay from Monday to Friday between the hours of 8am to 4pm for storage pending shipment.

The parameters for accepting supplies are:

  • Non-perishable food items and construction materials, which would be consolidated into a 40-ft container and shipped to the affected areas – free of charge.

  • Items should be packaged and properly labelled to identify the contents therein.
